Regional party elections 2024

Every two years members in the East of England elect volunteers to serve as regional party officers, on the regional executive committee and other committees and as representatives to the English Council.

Nominations are open now and will close at 2pm on Saturday 2 November 2024. Please complete a nomination form if you wish to stand for any of the positions listed below. The ballot will open in November and is due to close in early December.

The Returning Officer is Bob Charlesworth (bob_charlesworth@icloud.com / 0779 242 8564).

Posts up for election are:

Officers of the Regional Party

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Chair of the Regional Candidates Committee

Members of the Regional Executive

  • Twelve (12) ordinary members
  • One (1) member to be elected by principal local authority councillors (must be a councillor)

Committee members

  • Four (4) members of the Candidates Committee
  • Two (2) members of the Campaigns Committee
  • Two (2) members of the Development & Membership Engagement Committee
  • Four (4) members of the Conference Committee
  • Four (4) members of the Policy Committee

  • Nineteen (19) representatives to the English Council

Election timetable

  • Thursday 10 October – nominations open
  • Sat 2 November, 2pm – close of nominations

    If ballot required
  • Tue 12 November – deadline for manifestos
  • w/b 18 November – ballot opens
  • w/b 2 December – ballot closes and declaration of result
