Stephen Robinson campaigning for 'lollipop' crossing patrolStephen Robinson is Leader of Chelmsford City Council, after leading a campaign that increased the number of Liberal Democrat councillors from five to 31 earlier this month.

He is a Chelmsford City Councillor for Patching Hall ward (since May 2011) and Essex County Councillor for North Chelmsford since June 2012. In 2010 he came close to being elected as the MP for Chelmsford.

Stephen is passionate about retaining Britain's place as a leading member of the European Union, and stood for the European Parliament in previous elections.

Locally led the fight against Conservative plans to downgrade Broomfield Hospital A&E and against the Conservative Local Plan that does not deliver enough infrastructure (schools, transport, GPs, affordable housing etc.).

Stephen is using the European election campaign as an opportunity to make the case for Britain's EU membership, as he wants to "get things done" in the EU.
