Sandy WalkingtonSandy Walkington is a member of Hertfordshire County Council, representing St Albans South. He was previously a parliamentary candidiate for St Albans and came the closest to winning St Albans for the Lib Dems in the last 100 years.

He is strongly committed to Britain's membership of the European Union. As Director of Public Affairs for British Telecommunications and then for Transport for London, his work took him to Brussels. He knows his way around the EU institutions, which means he would be well placed to get things done for the East of England as an MEP.

As one of the 'go-to people' called on by BBC local radio to comment on European matters, he appears regularly on the JVS Show (the local radio show with the highest listenership in the UK). Sandy debated on air with Nigel Farage forcing him to acknowledge that leaving the EU will make us poorer in the short-term. He has also gone head-to-head with Peter Lilley and Patrick O'Flynn, challenging them on the Northern Ireland border issue and Russian involvement before the referendum, when other people weren't talking about these things.
