Marie GoldmanMarie Goldman was elected as a Liberal Democrat councillor in Chelmsford in May 2019. She is standing as a candidate for the European elections, as she believes that although the EU isn't perfect, we benefit from it enormously and are far better in it than out of it. The result of the EU referendum made her realise that she could no longer sit by and watch the other parties run our country down.

Marie joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 as part of a wave of new members seeking to defend liberal values. As someone fairly new to politics she has bought fresh eyes and a new perspective to doing politics.

Marie is a freelance management consultant with over 16 years of experience working with businesses and organisations of all sizes. She specialises in analysing business processes and translating them into IT systems that can help organisations become more efficient and effective. Marie also runs some other small businesses, supplying products to the construction industry, with her husband. She lives in Chelmsford and was previously a school governor for four years.
