Marie GoldmanMarie Goldman was elected as a Liberal Democrat councillor in Chelmsford in May 2019. She is standing as a candidate for the European elections, as she believes that although the EU isn't perfect, we benefit from it enormously and are far better in it than out of it. The result of the EU referendum made her realise that she could no longer sit by and watch the other parties run our country down.

A FRESH FACE WITH FRESH IDEAS

She joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 and is fairly new to politics, she can look at things with fresh eyes and a much-needed new perspective. She is not one to be easily bogged down in doing things the same way just because that's how they've always been done. Using her business experience, she is quick at understanding complex problems and asking probing questions to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose. These skills would be very useful in the European Parliament, where she would fit to ensure Britain's EU membership delivers for people in the East of England.
