Dear member,

This year because of the difficulties in holding a physical conference, we will be splitting it into two parts. Firstly, on the 14th November our AGM will be a Zoom meeting broadcast across the whole of the Region, from Hunstanton in the North to Heybridge in the South: from Bedford in the West to Beccles in the East.

Then in February, we hope to return to Cambridge for a policy conference concentrating on the elections in May 2021.

The effects of the Covid-19 virus have been pretty bad. Here in the East of England, we have all been affected in some way by this awful virus. The difficulties in meeting one another have been legion. However, from one point of view, it has enabled us to meet face to face, if not person to person.

The effects of discovering Zoom have been considerable. We have all become used to holding meetings with one another in close proximity but not next to each other. And we as a Region will be using this facility to open up our conference to all our members, not just those willing to travel across the length and breadth of the East of England Region.

At our November AGM we will we hear from our officers and activists what they have been doing on our behalf and how they have been spending our money, wisely we hope. Daisy Cooper and Don Foster will update us on their parliamentary activities and of particular significance, our President Mark Pack will be making the keynote presentation. And of course this is your opportunity to stand for election to the many posts on behalf of the members of the East of England Region.

This year we will be seeking nominations for being members of the English Council, the Regional Executive and the vacancies for Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Chair of the Candidates Committee.

Our afternoon will provide interesting and varied training sessions for candidates for the forthcoming elections and advice for our local party members.

Do come and join us for what will be a fascinating and stimulating event.
