Ever since Paddy Ashdown, Roy Jenkins and Charles Kennedy, the Liberal Democrats have been good at local government, even if our nearly 20% of the national vote has usually only netted 9% of the Westminster MPs (and we don't get anywhere near that fifth of the coverage on the news…)

Local to Hemel, you probably know that the Lib Dems gained MPs recently in St Albans (Daisy Cooper, 2019) and Chesham & Amersham (Sarah Green, 2021).

You might be surprised to realise that Lib Dems in local government currently run Three Rivers, Watford and St Albans Councils. Three Rivers is one of the best-performing Councils for recycling in the entire UK!
