Fury at cost of new Essex bus timetable

Local Liberal Democrats have reacted with fury at the cost and size of the the new Essex bus timetable. Thanks to Conservative-led Essex County Council, the new Essex Bus Timetable Book is selling at £13.50 when the last edition only cost a £1.
Said Stansted Lib Dem Cllr Alan Dean, "The new timetable will be too expensive for many regular bus users, and difficult to read for those with poor eyesight."
Brentwood Lib Dem County Cllr David Kendall has written to the Conservative Cabinet Member for Highways expressing his concerns and has asked for the production and costing of the book to be looked at again.
He said, "The County Council used to subsidise heavily the timetable book and I believe they need to do this again. The bus users I have spoken say the new book does not meet their needs and is far too expensive.
"I hope the County Council will ensure that an alternative is produced to sell at a reasonable price to meet the needs of bus users."
