Norwich South MP Simon Wright has today visited the West Earlham Junior School to answer questions from keen year 6 pupils and to give advice on how they should canvass for fellow pupils' vote as the school is set to hold elections tomorrow (Friday) as part of their study of politics.

Pupils visited Westminster yesterday (Thursday) to learn about the work of MPs and armed with fresh knowledge asked Mr. Wright about his work in parliament whilst raising local and national issues that they were concerned about.

Commenting Mr. Wright said "I greatly enjoyed my visit to West Earlham Junior School and the children asked some excellent questions about my work as MP whilst raising some important issues such as the future of the Shoemaker's pub site and the prevalence of Graffiti and litter in Norwich."

"I was also encouraged that students were passionate views in their own community, as well as on national topics of debate. We discussed smoking bans, drugs policy, and ways of improving our environment."

Students were also asking for advice on how to give a campaigning speech as they are set to hold their own style of elections tomorrow (Friday) and campaign on a clear set of policies. These will then be sent to Mr. Wright who will take them up.

"I'm passionate about encouraging younger people to get interested in politics, and these elections are a fantastic way of doing this. I look forward to receiving their policies and taking them up with the relevant authorities." said Simon.
