Pilgrims Hatch phone box Cllr Vicky Davies is delighted to have at long last managed to get BT to repair the damaged telephone box in Elizabeth Road.

Vicky said:

"After many fruitless calls to Brentwood Council to enlist their help I called BT directly speaking to what sounded like a call centre across the oceans. Within days the repairs had been completed the call centre achieving what Brentwood could not!!

"The vandalised box had been a danger for many month so with shards of broken glass strewn around. Vandals have taken delight in repeatedly attacking this box but since the dispersal order came into force in the area it has been quieter so, hopefully, it will remain in one piece. In these times of mobile phones the use and need for telephone boxes is minimal so I hope BT will consider removing it entirely.
